How to Apply Blush with a Cheek Brush
Five steps for a natural, uncomplicated flush.
1. Use a small amount
Too much product on the brush gives a heavy finish.
Start with a little, tap the excess off on the back of your hand and work it through the bristles, then build gradually to the depth you want.
2. Smile
Smile into the mirror and find the highest point of the cheek.
The raised, fuller part at the center of the cheek is the marker for where the color goes.
3. Sweep gently
Slide the brush lightly from that high point, following the line of the cheekbone.
Working from the inside outward lets the color settle into the skin. Keep the pressure light and let the tips do the work.
4. Soften the edges
Blur the boundary of the color with the brush so no edge is visible.
Then take whatever blush is left on the brush and touch a very small amount onto the bridge and tip of the nose and the point of the chin. Color in those places reads across the whole face, where blush on the cheeks alone can look placed.
5. Build to the depth you want
If you want more color, add a little at a time.
Thin layers are easier to judge, and the finish stays closer to the skin.
